The introductory pottery wheel throwing / clay making workshop allows students to learn how to throw on a potter's wheel and hand build over the course of two hours. These workshops are limited to 8 people to maximize student time with the instructor.

Already know how to throw? you can rent our wheels for some diy time! Available in 1-hour sessions which include up to 45 minutes on the wheel and 15 minutes of active cleanup.
Recommended to students who completed at least two regular throwing classes with our wheel instructors, or anyone who has equivalent wheel throwing skills and would like to use the wheel completely on their own. No supervision or guidance in wheel throwing is provided by staff- you are just renting the wheel time. Each session includes the use of tools, There is no limit to the quantity of thrown pieces you can make during your wheel time.

Receive personalized one-on-one instruction from our instructors and spend more quality time working on specific aspects of wheel throwing. Alternately, for couples, you can make this private class a fun and creative date out of it -like in the movie "Ghost"!
One on One Private Lessons are available for a single person or a couple with one of our instructors which includes everything in the 2-hour basic wheel class. Because of the lower enrollment in this session, based on the progression of class there may be an opportunity to throw more pottery pieces on the wheel or develop better throwing skills at no additional charge. It all depends on the attention and ability and how each student progresses during the class.

With guided, professional instruction, you'll have a fun and creative time making one item out of clay on a pottery wheel. It takes about 1/2 hour to make your item, and you can engrave it or decorate it after. You can take the pottery home with you the same day you make them, or—if you'd like—we can fire "your work, g"laze "it, and ship it to you for a small fee.
